Simply Me.

So excited for Psi celebration for Stephanie’s birthday tonight at Skates! I love that everyone is slowing crossing the line to becoming legal! More updates with photos later! :)

Last night at Dave and Busters in San Jose for Pat’s birthday was super fun as well! So good to see everyone.

This past week has been a nightmare, but thank god that’s over now! I’m going to have so much fun this weekend with my new friends in Noe Valley! :)

Something meaningful from my younger brother’s wall

“When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else —The small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ He continued,
there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So…

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

‘Take care of the golf balls first —
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled
‘I’m glad you asked’.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
There’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

♥”

Hell week

Why is life already so busy in the second week of class? I hope to have my classes and the rest of my schedule settled by mid-February. All this uncertainty is killing me!

Happy birthday BFF!

My best friend of 11 years finally turned 21 last night! She had her party at the beautiful Carnelian by the Bay in SF, overlooking the Bay Bridge that spanned across the waters. As expected, she didn’t last the whole night but at least she remembers I took her home and tugged her in bed.

I woke up this morning with a massive headache from the night before even though I didn’t even drink much. Found my way to Starbucks and talked to the campus recruiter about my summer. What a good way to start my morning :) I probably wouldn’t have gotten out of bed after sleeping at 3AM the night before. But it’s so sunny and warm in Berkeley today!

Confronting things I don’t want to face isn’t exactly my forte so that’s why I can’t see you on Thursday. But I hope you’ll forgive me. Writing that few sentences to you was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, honestly. I had so much to say but only a few words managed to get onto that page.

Final final

Hi World,

I’m free after 11AM tomorrow!

Love,

Celia

Philz @ 8AM

My days are just getting better and better. My roommates and I rushed to philz in hopes of getting good coffee and good seats this morning and yay us! We got here before Berkeley was awake! Life is so wonderfully tranquil in the morning :)

psi holiday exchange today… Can’t wait! Four more days until I’m off to Asia!

Cafe Milano @ 8AM

This morning was the first time I got up early to study at a cafe. It feels good to know that im one of the few people up and working already. But can someone tell me how it’s Friday already? Where did my week of studying go? Definitely not ready for my Tuesday final nor my Wednesday final yet.

But I’m counting down to the day I hop onto that flight to Hong Kong to see my family 12 hours later! Motivation.

December!

The greatest challenge precedes the great reward. This week was hell and I hope I didn’t forget to do something I was supposed to. But overall, I feel pretty accomplished for having survived this week that put me on the brink of insanity.

I feel pretty good about my dead week… especially with few obligations and only two finals to prepare for. With Monday free to do some last minute studying, Poli Sci final on Tuesday and Micro on Wednesday, I’ll be ready for my vacation on Thursday! I’m stoked to see my family in China this winter.

Speaking about winter… can you believe it’s December already? 28 days later and I’ll be 21! Glad to get to spend my birthday with all my family this year <3
